Magnesium L-lactate powder (also suitable for milk intolerance) - 90 portions

11.94 incl. VAT.

90 doses of magnesium. Recommended daily dose: 1 teaspoon (2 g), divided into two portions.

Magnesium lactate does not contain any milk derivatives (lactose, casein), it only resembles lactose in name. Magnesium lactate is the salt of magnesium with lactic acid. Lactic acid is also produced by our muscles after intensive physical work and is a favoured fuel for the brain and heart. The product is also suitable for people who cannot consume dairy products.

There are two forms of lactic acid: D-lactic acid and L-lactic acid. These are converted into D-lactate and L-lactate in the body. Healthy people have almost only L-lactate in their blood, which is an important nutrient for the heart and brain, among other things. In our product, the magnesium is bound exclusively to the L-form of lactic acid, which not only enables better absorption of the magnesium, but also provides the useful L-lactate without the D-lactate. It also means you are less prone to loose stools than with many other forms of magnesium.

Description

Why is magnesium important?

Magnesium is a particularly important mineral and it is difficult to get the daily amount you need from your diet alone. Many processed foods contain no magnesium at all, and stress, exercise, coffee and tea consumption increase the excretion of magnesium from the body. For all these reasons, magnesium deficiency is widespread today and supplementation is beneficial for almost everyone.

Who should take magnesium?

As most people do not consume enough magnesium, it is worth taking a dietary supplement to obtain at least 400 mg of elemental magnesium per day, depending on your diet. In short, a higher magnesium intake has a number of health benefits:

  • Improves athletic performance
  • Prevents muscle cramps and promotes muscle regeneration
  • Calming, stress-reducing effect
  • stimulates the immune system
  • helps to prevent cardiovascular problems
  • improves blood sugar levels and insulin sensitivity
  • Better quality of sleep, clearer thinking, more energy
  • Vitamin D function (which also requires good kidney function - active D hormone), the Herbafulvo support

An excellent addition to the Fulvicherb - Fulvic acid.

How do you choose the right type of magnesium?

The absorption of different magnesium supplements varies greatly, which has a significant impact on the symptoms that occur with magnesium supplementation. Certain magnesium supplements can lead to diarrhoea, loose stools or other digestive problems, which in such cases are caused by unabsorbed magnesium.

Inorganic forms of magnesium such as - sulphate, - oxide, - carbonate, - hydroxide are hardly utilised, but can cause the same unpleasant symptoms as above. Of the inorganic forms of magnesium, only -chloride is well utilised.

Organic (chelated) forms of magnesium are usually well absorbed and therefore rarely cause digestive problems. These include magnesium bisglycinate, lactate and taurate. An exception is magnesium citrate, which is a magnesium salt with citric acid and tends to cause loose stools if too much citric acid is taken: although it is well absorbed in small amounts, it also causes diarrhoea in most people at the required dosage.

What should I look out for when choosing a product?

Many organic magnesium supplements on the market are not what they claim to be. Most use only partially or not at all converted, activated magnesium compounds. This means, for example, that a product is described as containing magnesium malate when in fact it only contains a mixture of magnesium oxide/carbonate and malic acid. Another typical example is that the product contains a mixture of magnesium oxide and citric acid instead of the magnesium citrate stated on the packaging.

It is possible that the reaction is partially complete, but most of the magnesium is not present in the candidate form. For this reason, organic forms often cause diarrhoea because they only contain part of the organic candidate form. The elemental magnesium content is always higher in the incompletely reacted forms, which are also cheaper raw materials and therefore much more economical.

Of course, we only use a "fully mature" version of everything, including magnesium.

What are the benefits of magnesium L-lactate?

Magnesium L-lactate is the salt of magnesium with lactic acid, L-lactic acid, not D- or DL-lactic acid. This is important because L-lactic acid enters the bloodstream as L-lactate, which is the preferred fuel for the brain and heart, among other things. So if there is enough L-lactate in the blood, the heart and brain cells favour the latter over glucose (or even ketone bodies).

Normally, we have very little L-lactate in our bodies - most of it is present during and after exercise, which is one of the reasons why we feel so good after exercise. D-lactate, on the other hand, is not a nutrient in our body and is ideally only produced in small quantities - usually only in the case of increased stress, metabolic diseases or if our intestinal flora is disturbed.

In addition to its magnesium content, magnesium L-lactate therefore has the added benefit of providing a useful form of lactic acid/lactate. Not only is it a readily utilisable form of magnesium that rarely causes diarrhoea, it is also very economical: it is the most economical form of elemental magnesium in terms of cost per unit. And the flavour is relatively neutral, so it can be mixed into almost any drink. It is recommended for those who want to take the most economical route to high-quality magnesium.
