Fine, light-coloured rice for a wide variety of dishes
White rice is polished, which gives it a particularly mild, light and pleasantly neutral flavour. It cooks faster than brown rice and is easy to prepare.
Thanks to its subtle rice flavour, it takes on the flavours of spices, herbs and sauces well. This makes it a good match for vegetables, fish, meat, pulses, mild sauces, curries and Asian-inspired dishes.
Use in the kitchen
You can use white rice as a classic side dish, in rice stir-fries, soups, bakes, stuffed vegetables, rice and meat dishes, rice salads and mild rice dishes. It also goes very well with tomato-based dishes, coconut milk, curry, mushrooms, herbs and steamed vegetables.
Its mild flavour makes it particularly versatile. It is just as suitable for simple everyday dishes as it is for ready meals, light vegetable stir-fries or warm rice dishes with a sauce.
Method
Wash the rice thoroughly before cooking. Then bring it to the boil with about twice the amount of water and a little salt. Cover and cook over a low heat until the water has been absorbed.
Depending on the desired consistency, the rice is ready after about 10–15 minutes Done. Leave to rest briefly, then fluff it up with a fork.
Origin and low arsenic content
This white rice is made from Hungarian rice. Its European origin makes it a good choice for anyone who values traceable origins and reliable quality when it comes to gluten-free staple ingredients.
In rice products, the arsenic content is an important quality indicator. The rice base used has a low arsenic content and is therefore well suited to a health-conscious, gluten-free diet.
